I recently discovered this service from theprintspace called thehub that lets you setup a gallery of pictures and an easy shopping cart system. The prints are made and delivered by them. The quality is impressive. So, I created one with my “Low Tide” pictures here. Maybe you’d like to order some of them. 🙂
P.S. Of course, let me know if you are interested in prints of any other pictures of mine. You can browse this blog (the tag cloud can be a starting point for search), or my flickr account.
There is something really rewarding about printing your own pictures at home,
although printer inks are the most expensive liquids on earth, based on this graph:
At the same time, the process of creating those inks doesn’t seem easy either, as show in this video:
And great ads like this help a bit in a buying decision:
Of course, there are other options, like asking for prints to on-line printing services or good old photo labs. But the thing of printing at home to me just feels great. You may end with thousands of files on your computer that look perfectly fine on your screen, but watching an image in a piece of paper adds something else to the experience. Maybe is similar to developing pictures in a darkroom (a completely different process, but with similar end result). I can imagine that now its just more immediate, without less surprises, but still… .
